CataClean

We tested this catalytic converter cleaner and loved it!

This was used as a last ditch effort to keep from having to replace the catalytic converter on a 2003 Toyota Camry with 250,000 miles on it.  Putting a $1,000.00 dollar catalytic converter on the vehicle was not really cost effective. So, I did what all cheapskates want which is a solution to an expensive problem and get that solution from a relatively inexpensive bottle. I have to admit I was a little skeptical of the claims but I watched a few reviews online. OK, I tried it.

Wow! It worked! I had tried other products and to no avail. I then tried this and followed the directions...well, mostly followed the directions. (Please follow the directions on the label because I am no expert!)  I ran twice what the label recommended and hoped for the best. 1000 miles later, no codes saying I need a new catalytic converter and no check engine lights. Claims verified! This stuff works. Available at most auto parts stores and places like Walmart, etc.

Craftsman Multifuel Heater

This heater is a workhorse! It is rugged and it heats quickly. At 80,000 btu per hour it can heat a garage or workshop even on those really cold days. We know it is rugged because we dropped our! We sat it on the back of our truck and forgot it was there. We were going to move the truck and as we accelerated the heater fell off the truck. Stupid as it was, we were expecting more damage that what occurred. The impeller for the fuel pump cracked and was rather noisy but still worked! After using this thing with a cracked impeller of two entire seasons, it finally stopped working. Simply called customer service and they were quick to send a replacement part to get it up and running again. I am not mechanically inclined but taking the fuel delivery system apart wasn't hard and anyone that can turn a screwdriver should be able to do basic repairs like this easily!

Now the bad part. You know there are always a downside if there is an upside.  The downer for me is the location of the fuel cap. With modern, inflexible, bulky gas cans of today, you really have to have the right funnel to put fuel in this thing! The location of the fuel filler opening makes it very easy to spill fuel so be sure you refuel this outdoors on something that a little diesel fuel will not hurt.

Also, be aware, you need to have a fresh air supply near the unit. Without it the fumes from this, though not excessive, are noticeable. There are a number of ways to supply fresh air to it. Some people have cut holes in walls to add a fresh air source. For us, we just cracked the door open a little to let it breathe.

Overall, it is a great heater and will serve you well!
